Father’s Day with Los Tweens – Dia de los Padres

Remember the TV shows where the only interaction a father had with his child was the pat they gave them on the head while making themselves a cocktail before sitting down to read the paper? My dad was similar except he didn’t have a cocktail and was usually reaching for the remote control.

Times have changed and aloof dads are a dying breed. My husband is lucky if he gets anywhere near a newspaper or remote control before the kids go to bed. He helps with dinner, gives baths, reads books and wrestles with them before bedtime. I know he is not the only one out there that is extremely involved in their children’s lives.

“The key is my husband. Without him I could never accomplish all of this.” – Soledad O’Brien’s response when I asked her the secret to her successful career and great family. It is true.

Want more proof? Watch the Los Tweens video for Father’s Day. The tweens (and one sibling) go on and on about all of the great things they do with their dads – some of them serious and some hilarious. They are appreciative.

This Father’s Day let’s wish our husbands, dads and all of the men in our lives a Feliz Dia de los Padres. Thank you for making a positive impact in the lives of our tweens!
