Our team had the opportunity to visit Dollywood Parks & Resorts in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the first time this past December. They fell in love with its quaint familia appeal and options for entertainment. They had the pleasure of tasting award-winning food, which both the teens and adults found delicious. Our teens experienced heart-pounding thrills that had their Abuela standing at the exit nervously waiting for them to get off (gotta love los Abuelo’s).
From roller coasters for the teens and the daredevil parents, to kiddie rides, special exhibitions and family shows-the park really does offer something for every age. One of the aspects that we appreciated was actually the pricing. The rates for most things including tickets and passes, food, gifts, and unique western clothing were fairly priced and affordable.

Dollywood offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the contagious spirit of its people, all at a place fun for all ages.
If you are planning a day trip during the winter months, as our family did, make sure you wear plenty of layers as the temperature varies significantly throughout the day. When visiting, keep in mind that it is located in the Great Smoky Mountains. Most importantly if traveling in the winter do not forget to bring your hats, mittens, and warm socks (thank us later!). Also wear comfortable warm shoes such as hiking boots- your feet will appreciate it.
If traveling in the Spring or Summer check the weather and consider a visit to Dollywood’s Splash Country Water Park. Located adjacent to Dollywood theme park, Dollywood’s Splash Country features a variety of water attractions for both the thrill-seekers and pool-loungers in your family.
There are plenty of options for snacks, lunch, and dinner such as Front Porch Cafe for a quick lunch. By the way, the pork sandwiches at the Hickory House BBQ were awarded the best BBQ by Amusement Business magazine; our familia could not agree more!
