Teen anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health conditions that arise during adolescence, and parenting or mentoring teens requires a set of skills caregivers often find themselves missing or needing to improve.
We here at Los Tweens & Teens, often produce content featuring experts around this subject with and we are now SUPER excited about presenting our first event in Miami, “Teens & Me,” as a unique experience for adults + kids ages 12-17.
Slated for Saturday, January 26th from 9:30 AM – 1 PM, the event will be held at the Ana G. Mendez University System campus at 15201 NW 79th Court in Miami Lakes. $15 tickets can be purchased HERE.
“Our purpose for launching “Teens & Me” is to create a dialog critical for parents and adults (teachers, counselors, mentors) to support healthy teens rooted in good mental health and education,” said Cristy Clavijo-Kish, Los Tweens & Teens founder and mom of twin teen girls.
By hosting our inaugural event in our hometown of Miami, we hope to create a model for additional programs throughout the year featuring topics from health and wellness to food, fitness, technology and more as well as host at least one additional program in another key city later this year.”
We are keeping the event costs as low as possible to attract parents, caregivers and teens of all income levels. Individual tickets are priced at only $15 per person which includes a snack break, goodie bag, a copy of the book “Protected by Purpose” by guest speaker Dorinda Walker (one for each adult).
“Teens & Me” will be a unique experience that will include three separate tracks: for adults, for teens, and one sessions for everyone together.
The half-day program also features an exhibit area that will serve as a central location for everyone to spend time sampling brand partner products as well as learning about community services offered by non-profit organizations focused on this critical age segment.
Tours of the Ana G. Mendez University System campus will be available during the program.
