It’s always fun to meet a celebrity that you admire but more so when they turn out to be easy going and friendly. That was just the case when Katherine and I attended a recent Swarovski event on Miami Beach. We met the never-dull cohost of Fashion Police on E! George Kotsiopoulos as he shared his favorite selections from Swarovski’s new spring line and introduced his new book, “Glamorous by George.”
What I noticed first about George was his friendly nature and positive vibe. He complimented each person about an item they were wearing as part of their overall fashion. He was trying to make each guest feel good about at least one fashion choice. He made you feel that you shouldn’t be nervous about what he might say and I fully appreciated it. Katherine got major compliments on her very sparkly strappy high heel sandals that turned out to be an awesome find at a discounted rate and her Swarovski necklace. My compliment was regarding the bold-colored blouse I was wearing that paired with the fun Swarovski piece that accented it. We both walked away feeling like moms and women who can rock their look and were so proud!
Since the evening was a tribute to George and his new book, we purchased one that he signed for us. Who is this book for? YOU- OUR READERS! I have glanced through the book and feel I need to have one! Every woman she read through the pages as they just draw you in. He chronicles major fashion trends and looks throughout the decades to make suggestions on how any woman can be glamorous in her own unique way. My favorite part was the very helpful section regarding tips on what actually is a fashion headache for many women- what to wear when you receive an invitation that includes a ‘fashion guideline.’ For example- what really is the difference between cocktail attire and black-tie attire? Understanding the difference can make you dazzle or go unnoticed at an important event in your life and that’s never fun. I also really enjoyed the section about being gracious and glamorous as a host or hostess- something that is not always easy for busy moms with older kids who demand so much of our time.
Be sure to enter our fun giveaway below! George’s inscription is simple and fun but so true: ‘Keep it glam!’ We hope many of you enter and we’ll be mailing this great guide to being a more fashionable YOU to a lucky reader very soon.
Cheers to being more glamorous chicas!
