Disclaimer: Los Tweens was invited by Universal Orlando to experience the theme parks and CityWalk. However, all opinions expressed are our own.
The last time I went to Universal Orlando’s ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ was about 10 years ago to take my then- teenage cousins. It was quite fun and the guys (they were both around 15) really enjoyed it. I hear that the current Halloween Horror Nights are way scarier than when I went! While I did think it was fun- I’m not a big fan of being scared. But then I’m married to Mr. ‘Loves to be Scared’ dude who’s a major fan of scary movies and thrill rides. And there are plenty of others, especially teens, that love all things spooky, gory, frightening, etc. And I know many, many moms who LOVE this stuff- seriously!!
While our team recently visited City Walk and the Universal Theme Parks we saw the huge crowds entering Halloween Horror Nights and of course it was packed with TEENS!! The entrance age is a minimal 13 and rightfully so with themes that include The Walking Dead, Aliens vs. Predator, Halloween (the movie) and The Purge.
The event runs through November 1st so if you are able to get there- you still have time. As I said, while I’m not a fan of all-things scary, I will say that this is one of those teenage requests that challenge parents (unless you’re like my husband who loves this stuff).

Whatever you decide to do- please stay safe and Happy Halloween!
As a mother of twin tweens in 2011 and an active Girl Scout Troop leader, Cristy realized there was a need to develop bilingual digital content and foster a community facing the challenges of raising kids after first grade. That year she founded and remains co-Publisher of Los Tweens & Teens, to support multicultural parents and mentors with content related to raising Gen Z- tweens & teens ages 7-18. Through the Los Tweens & Teens LIVE events such as Teens & Me – the growing team aims to provide our community with essential resources from chats with therapists to battle anxiety and bullying, to understanding social media and technology.
