Last week Los Tweens & Teens had the privilege of live-tweeting the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s 13th Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Gala. We were proud to celebrate one of the largest not-for-profit organization’s supporting Hispanic American higher education. In a room full of notable honorees it was difficult not to think, in a few years this could be our children.
This year’s inductees could not have done it without a strong support system and a community which stressed the importance of achievement, leadership, and education. We strongly support the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) for being that support system for our community. As the nation’s leading provider of scholarships to Latino students, HSF has been shaping future leaders in this country one scholarship at a time.
Each inductee this year is an example of what a great education can provide to our children. HSF honored many Latinos who are at the height of their career in this country’s leading industries. Meet Dr. Vasti Torres, just one of the many Hispanic Scholarship Fund Alumni Inductees.
On behalf of Los Tweens, we would love to extend a huge congratulations to all of the inductees: Corporate Partner of the Year, Wells Fargo; Honorary Inductee, Frank Ros, Board of Directors, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and Vice President, Hispanic Strategies, The Coca-Cola Company; HSF Alumni Inductees Juan Sepúlveda, Senior Vice President, Station Services, PBS, and Dr. Vasti Torres, Dean and Professor, University of South Florida.
All members are an inspiration to the current generation of children and parents. As the Hispanic community grows into one of the most influential in the country we are honored to have such exemplary leaders.
