Los Tweens is proud to announce its partnership with Ford to support the Celebrate Education/Educación (#CelebrateEdu) series. In conjunction with the Ford Latino team, Los Tweens will be brining its readers advice and positive role models to encourage the celebration of educational and extra-curricular achievements of children ages 7-12. Articles will include interviews with female and Latina Ford employees in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, 81% of tween girls find STEM careers interesting but only 13% say it’s their first career choice. This number is even less for Hispanic girls who have less support, less exposure and lower levels of academic achievements than their peers. Los Tweens and Ford’s #CelebrateEdu series is working to change these numbers by providing positive role models and encouragement to Latino and multicultural parents and children.
