Los Tweens is going to the Theatre

10:38 am by Cristy Clavijo-Kish

We have been invited by the The Arsht Center to attend this weekend’s presentation of Marionetas de la Esquina – Emilio and the Enchanted Cow which has been entertaining children and adults alike since 1975. The production has helped make puppetry one of the favorite family entertainments throughout the Americas!

Our chicos of My.Los Tweens are excited to attend and report their review of the show.. ya veremos! From the parents’ perspective, we’re excited that they will enjoy a culturally rich program while hearing how Emilio deals with very real tween issues of shyness, friends and bullying.

Here’s a summary of the show:

When you’re only 8, life has pretty big challenges. Luckily for Emilio, he’s great at two things: drawing and using his imagination. When dealing with a new school gets tough, Emilio draws a gregarious cow who magically springs to life off the page! With help from his cow, he dives into a wondrous fantasy world and discovers he has the strength to overcome his shyness and even school-yard bullies!

If you’re in Miami this weekend and are coming with your family- please let us know! We would love to have a “LosTweens meet up”.. que bueno!

Stay tuned for our updates from @LosTweens, on our Facebook page and fun photos on the site.

Nos vemos!
DISCLAIMER: LosTweens was given complimentary passes to the show but all views are our own.

Cristy Clavijo-Kish

As a mother of twin tweens in 2011 and an active Girl Scout Troop leader, Cristy realized there was a need to develop bilingual digital content and foster a community facing the challenges of raising kids after first grade. That year she founded and remains co-Publisher of Los Tweens & Teens, to support multicultural parents and mentors with content related to raising Gen Z- tweens & teens ages 7-18. Through the Los Tweens & Teens LIVE events such as Teens & Me – the growing team aims to provide our community with essential resources from chats with therapists to battle anxiety and bullying, to understanding social media and technology.

Los tweens & teens

I conceived the idea for Los Tweens and Teens in the midst of raising identical twin daughters as they reached first grade. My familia always is at the center of my life.
