Ayayaya.. A marker of the tween years is the beginning of peer pressure. From clothes to electronics, tweens want the latest and coolest craze. We – los padres – allow them to indulge or draw the line to teach our children that what they want isn’t what they need. Most of the time no one will remember that they didn’t have millions of neon plastic bracelets shaped like antelopes. One trend that isn’t going away any time soon is the cell phone.
During a recent mom “chisme” session, one of our good friends told us how her daughter read off a list of her friends who had cell phones and couldn’t understand why she wasn’t allowed if ALL of those chicas have one? Yup, the pressure is definitely on!

One of our biggest concerns – and that of most parents – is loss of control, control over hours spent talking and texting and control over the conversation.
