Latinitas, a non-profit empowering Latina teens & tweens through media & technology, held the Code Chica Conference this past April 19th in Austin Community College Eastview Campus. Latina girls ages 9-18 were able to design video games from start to finish – first with art and theater since video games are very cinematic, and then to the development table to code the game.
Over 47% of gamers are women, yet female heroes and stories in video games are hard to find.
