“But you’ve done it before. It’s going to be super easy for you.”
A first-time mom said this to me recently at an event when we started discussing potty training. I almost laughed in her face. As any parent of multiple children knows, each child is different and the chances are that what works to potty train one child will not work to potty train the other.
What always works – whether it’s your first or third child – is celebrating every flush. Positive reinforcement is key to training children to adopt any new behavior. That’s why I was thrilled to receive a package of fun potty training materials, Pull-Ups and a potty seat. As you can see by the picture below, I wasn’t the only one that was excited.
Pull-Ups has been a product that I have used in potty training all three of my children. They are ideal for teaching children when to recognize they are wet and the mechanics of how to pull up and down their own underpants. Training pants can help make potty training a fun and easy bonding experience between parent and child by encouraging parents to celebrate the potty training milestone with fun rituals. Flushable wipes are also great with teaching children how to wipe without unrolling a roll of toilet paper.
And now, Pull-Ups has created a great resource to help moms celebrate every flush – the Big Kid app. Moms see potty training as a pain in the neck. Pull-Ups is bringing together mom’s favorite potty training tools along with a new 3D celebration. They created a mobile app that helps moms with potty training, gets kids motivated – and makes it fun for both. My youngest daughter thoroughly enjoyed playing with the characters on it. This was a resource that wasn’t around when I potty trained my oldest child, eight years ago. So I was excited to be able to take advantage of it.
