Ten80 National STEM League Finals in Houston, TX
What do U.S. Army Soldiers, racecar drivers and electronic dance music DJs have in common? They all require STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to succeed!
More than 1,000 students and educators from 22 local high schools will come to iTech Magnet @ Thomas Edison Educational Center in Miami on November 4th for a day of STEM and electronic dance music at the Army Ten80 STEMfest event.
The first time ever held in Miami, this is one of two STEMfest events taking place across the country this year.
The Ten80 National STEM League is a STEM initiative that inspires students to engage in sustained learning, a collaborative network and optional competition league adopted by schools in 37 states.
Students will learn how to work in teams and compete to optimize the performance of high-tech tools such as a 1:10 scale radio-controlled (RC) racecar, fuel cells, and robots.
Motorsports is the ideal backdrop for this type of learning because it is the only professional sport to actively use all four STEM subjects in real-time. After the competition, students will enjoy a dance party put on by DJ Crespo.
