Product Review: Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Bars were provided for our team to experience.
One the daily questions you will hear from growing and older kids is ‘what is there to eat??’ It’s a constant activity to find snacks and meals that are healthier while actually keeping their developing stomachs satisfied! During the summer in particular with more time at home or outside in the heat the question is heard from kids more often. And for busy parents it’s also a challenge to have easy snack or breakfast items packed with more fiber and protein. As a Latina mom no matter how old my kids get I’m always worried about what they’re eating- it’s a cultural thing! Because a full breakfast may be a little too much on the belly just before a hike or activities, having options for a quick breakfast or snack to just grab-and-go is fantastic.
We decided to try the new “Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits” that come in three flavors and here are some of our thoughts:
The biscuits are available in convenient pouches of four and feel like a yummy cookie with your coffee, milk, juice or other beverage. These biscuits are made with 100% whole grain, and are loaded with fiber and protein. I was pleasantly surprised to see 5 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of sugar as I was anticipating the sugar would be much higher. While I’m trying to reduce the carb intake for our family the reality is that it’s not so realistic. It is helpful to have snacks with controlled portions instead of more cookies and muffin options. I also appreciated the biscuits really curbed our hunger and provided energy for our busy morning in the mountains! The Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits are available in three popular flavors: Honey Roasted, Strawberry and Chocolate Chip.
If you are looking for a quick breakfast alternative that doesn’t require a microwave for those on-the-rush mornings or just before a workout, give them a try and let us know you thoughts in the comments below. I have tossed a pack of biscuits in my purse for those emergency ‘starvation’ moments with the teens! Just because your kids are not toddlers anymore doesn’t mean you don’t need to have an easy food supply available for them.

Having a snack that’s sweet but has fiber and protein is a great option in your purse for emergency mom or teen snacks.
