Our founder Cristy Clavijo-Kish joined Psychotherapist, Development Expert, Mom, Wife, founder of Stop Parenting Alone and contributor for our Ask Lina column, Lina Acosta Sandaal on Facebook to host a LIVE series titled Why “Parents Just Don’t Understand” where they discussed the current state of families across the country especially those that are social distancing, and/or quarantined due to Covid-19.

Lina shared her professional opinion with our audience and encouraged parents to allow their children to express themselves during these trying times.
Lina went on to compare families to an aquarium; the parents and caregivers are the water and the children are the fish. She reminded us that it is your responsibility as parents and caretakers to ensure the water stays clean.
Even though all of our teens are unique and express themselves differently it is our responsibility as parents to validate those feelings. Lina encouraged us to be honest and transparent with our own feelings and let our teens know that it is okay to feel the way they do.
